our building has new owners and they have embarked on some MAJOR changes, the biggest being these little trees in big flower pots. with all the scaffolding and construction men around, hanging about outside my fourth floor (on ropes or just the fire escape) i should be excited about all the improvements. but you know what thought fills my mind?

they better not try to raise my rent.

during my time in zimbabwe, i made some new friends. we took a self-portrait.

If Loving You Is Wrong...

after deciding that living in the present was getting a tad too much for me, i embarked on my weekend project. my leg warmers! and i WILL wear them, during that one week of spring that we are going to have. on friday. i may even frost my hair and hairspray the life out of it. i put them on and already i was tempted to try dancing on the ceiling... who knows, on that future flashback spring friday, i may start a street dance, flashdance, fame moment. i put on those funky leg warmers and i really believe that i'm gonna live forever. baby remember my name!!!!

i went out and bought a book on how to crochet. i sat with a ball of wool and tried to make it look like the picture - single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, triple crochet. and this is my first crochet project. my grand achievement for 2007 - i taught myself crochet!

yay! my wellingtons! i wanted these boots for months and months and months and always found an excuse not to go uptown to get them - distance and dislike of shopping are great motivators. but then finally i got them - just in time. last pair in the store. they knew they were my destiny. then...

no rain... no snow... dry weather all around. even when the weather channel predicted it. but then...


do ya see it? and in these boots, i can go anywhere. ain't no snow drift high enough, ain't no puddle wide enough... i am as aggressive as someone driving in an obnoxious big truck/suv. i am a demon in these boots! and i am LOVING IT!!!!
